About our Playgroup Sessions

We work on a staff to child ratio of 1 to 4 children under 3 and 1 to 6 for three to five year olds, as stipulated by Ofsted.

We employ six experienced members of staff.

We follow school terms and sessions are held between 9am and 3pm every week day.

Wrap-around care

Children aged 3 and over can attend the school's Breakfast Club and After School Club. These clubs run daily and offer wrap-around care from 7.45am until 5.30pm. Staff escort the children to and from Playgroup from these clubs. Please ask the Playgroup staff or enquire at the school office for further details (tel: 01761 470714).

Term Dates

The Farmborough Playgroup use the standard Bath and North East Somerset Term dates which can be found here :

School Term Dates

Opening Times

Monday - Friday 9.00 - 3.00

Optional lunch hours are available every day, which can be combined with a morning and/or afternoon session.

We are very flexible with the sessions we can offer. Please contact the Play Leader to discuss how we can meet your child's needs.

Funded & non-funded places

We accept BANES Council Nursery Education Grant funding which commences the term following your child's third birthday. The Play Leader claims this directly on your behalf at the beginning of each term.

Funded children

Once funded, your child is entitled to 12.5 hours of free learning every week. This can be used flexibly across the week. If your child attends Playgroup for more than 12.5 hours a week, then the extra will be charged at £3.50 an hour.

Non-funded children

We charge £3.50 an hour for non-funded children.

Fees are invoiced termly; payment can be arranged differently if required. Fees are still payable even if your child is absent (e.g. sickness, holiday etc).

Lunchtime Sessions

We offer a lunchtime session each day.

Children staying for the lunch session need to bring a packed lunch or order a cooked lunch, provided by the onsite school kitchen.

Please put an ice pack in packed lunches to keep them cool.
