Management and Administration

We are a community organisation with charitable status. The Playgroup is run by a voluntary Committee, most of whom are parents which ensures that major decision making is in the hands of the parents who use the group. The Playgroup is self-financing and non-profit making. The committee is responsible for reviewing both policy and practice, for the employment and appraisal of members of staff and also for fund raising. At the Annual General Meeting (held in the Autumn Term), a new Committee is elected and parents are invited to attend, where ideas and comments will be welcomed. .

Research shows that children learn better when their parents get involved. We give parents the opportunity to take an active part in the group by:

• Attending Playgroup sessions
• Assisting with fundraising
• Taking part in the management of the playgroup by joining the Committee
• Attending the group’s Annual General Meeting.
• Open sessions at the end of each term.

We develop a partnership with parents through regular newsletters and through sharing the children’s records. This is a great opportunity to become involved in your child’s education.
